Jürgen Schuster

CEO Asia Region & GM Hong Kong, Permasteelisa Gartner

He joined Josef Gartner GmbH in Gundelfingen, which is also his hometown, in March 1993 after graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from University of Applied Sciences Augsburg.

Starting as a façade designer he got involved in projects in the UK, Mauritius and Germany which included a one-year residency at the construction site of Commerzbank Headquarter Building in Frankfurt. Moving into project management brought him the first time to Asia in 1998 for the Bank of China Tower project in Shanghai where he spent more than a year on site during the installation phase. The next challenge, the Donald Danforth Plant Science Centre in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, brought him to North America followed by a return to Asia to head the project team of the Prada Aoyama Building in Tokyo. A move to Hong Kong in 2002 followed by serving in several management roles for Gartner and Permasteelisa in Asia until taking the CEO position for the Asia Region in 2021. Outside the office he likes to run and ride his road bike to balance the long sitting and talking at work, if possible with like minded sport mates, complemented by a bit of swimming.
