Karen McEvoy MRIAI is a Director of Bucholz McEvoy Architects based in Dublin, Ireland. Having studied Architecture at UCD, Karen worked in New York, Paris and London before returning to Dublin in 1996 where she co-founded Bucholz McEvoy Architects with Merritt Bucholz, following their competition win for the design of a low-energy Civic HQ for Fingal County Council, Dublin. The design-led practice has completed award-winning projects of various scales, in Ireland and abroad, working in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, with an ethos that emphasizes environmentally responsive design solutions. A holistically sustainable approach to well-crafted, site specific, climate responsive design permeates the projects of the practice. Karen has taught at SAUL (School of Architecture UL), DIT and UCD in Ireland, Harvard University USA, and has given various guest lectures in Europe and USA. She has been awarded membership of Professional Institutes of Ireland (RIAI), USA (AIA), Berlin (AKB) and Canada (OAA).
