Karl Sharro is an architect, urban designer and writer based in London. He is a Partner at PLP Architecture, where he leads projects around the world, having designed some of PLP’s most significant developments in the UK, Middle East, Europe and India.
His work is characterised by its focus on innovation, architectural identity and the creation of vibrant and liveable cities. At their core, Karl’s projects are deeply rooted in local context and its futuristic transformation.
His idea for a ‘1000 Mile-City’ along the East Mediterranean coast was broadcast on the BBC’s This Week’s World as part of the ‘Think Again’ strand, exploring radical ideas for the future. He has practiced architecture in London and Beirut, and taught for five years at the American University of Beirut.
