Laura Kidd

Head of Architecture, HS2

Laura is a chartered architect with over twenty years specialising in station and rail architecture. She has played a part in the successful delivery of several of the most recent prestigious main line rail and underground station projects, including the Thameslink Programme, HS1 and the Jubilee Line Extension.

Laura is now Client Architect for HS2 and in this role is responsible for setting the design aspirations and requirements for the new HS2 architecture.

Before joining HS2 her work on other major transport infrastructure projects in the capacity of design, contractor and client has helped her to develop a mature understanding of the various aspects of all roles and the difficulties that can arise unless the communication for design is clearly articulated, costed and programmed.

In the past six years she has provided a coherent architectural lead, which, through sensitive and decisive management has driven and initiated the firm foundation for architectural design that this nationally important programme demands.
