Linda has been a practicing Consulting Structural Engineer for 30 years. With an Honours engineering degree from the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, Linda has worked locally in South Africa, and internationally structural and façade projects.
A Professional and Chartered Engineer, and conversant in many structural mediums, Linda has specialised in particular structural forms, including tensile structures, and the design of facades. In 2006 she formed her own company, Linda Ness Associates Structural, Civil and Façade Engineers, and provides conceptual and design and supply services to the fenestration industry, and built environment in South Africa, and Africa.
In the process of a flagship system development for the cladding to the Moses Mabhida Stadium, for which her Company was recognised by the national SASSDA award in 2012, Linda developed and patented a versatile cladding fixture system. A strong supporter of ‘design assisted by testing’ Linda looks for unusual applications.
