Associate Director, Studio Egret West
Driven by a deep interest in how people live, interact with their surroundings and experience the built environment, Lucy approaches architecture as both a creative and analytical discipline. Her work explores how thoughtful design can respond to evolving social, environmental and technological challenges while creating places that are both practical and inspiring.
A strong advocate for research-led design, Lucy is particularly interested in the early stages of the architectural process, where site analysis, historical context and social understanding help shape meaningful design responses. Lucy enjoys breaking complex challenges down into their component parts, allowing ideas to be tested and developed through a clear and considered process.
Throughout her career, Lucy has placed significant importance on understanding the unique characteristics of a place – drawing on site observations, historical narratives, industrial heritage and social context to create architecture that responds authentically to its environment and the people who use it.
