Chief Executive Officer, APPII
Manuel Maria Duarte Neves Gonçalves is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of APPII – the Portuguese Association of Real Estate Developers and Investors, where he leads the association’s strategy, institutional representation, and engagement with key stakeholders in the real estate sector.
He is a Portuguese lawyer with experience in corporate law, M&A, and litigation. He holds a Master’s degree in Law and Management from the Portuguese Catholic University and a Law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he also completed postgraduate studies in M&A and Corporate Litigation, as well as in Corporate Governance.
He worked as a Lawyer at CMS Portugal, working in the Corporate M&A Technology, Media and Communications and also Litigation practice areas, later transitioning to Corporate M&A. He remained at the firm as a lawyer until 2025.
In 2025, he also served as Technical Specialist in the Office of the Secretary of State for Health, performing duties within his field of expertise.
