Marcella Carone

Architect & Computational Designer, Studio Marcella Carone

Marcella Carone is an architect, computational designer and invited postgraduation professor. Her work and research integrate novel and technological approaches in a variety of scales, including algorithm design, evolutionary optimization, artificial intelligence and digital fabrication.

She holds an MSc in emergent technologies and design from the Architectural Association and a bachelor’s degree in architecture and urbanism from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie.

Marcella collaborated as a senior architect and as part of the technology team at aflalo/gasperini and has over a decade of experience in large-scale projects, including commercial, institutional, and residential buildings, with an emphasis on feasibility studies and parametric approaches applied to architecture.

She recently participated in various national and international Artificial Intelligence events – as a partner tutor at the AA Visiting School São Paulo 2024, as workshop instructor at the X RITe USP Seminar and SIGraDI Barcelona, and as lecturer at Decameron and Studio MK27.

Currently, she teaches in the Lato Sensu postgraduate programs “Architecture, City, and Real Estate Development” and “Parametric Architecture” at Mackenzie University and, since 2022, has been leading her own practice, focous on investigate innovative intersection between architecture, urbanism, design and technology.
