Head of the Building Performance Group, WSP

Mark is an Architectural Environment Engineer who leads WSP’s Building Performance Group, a specialist team with expertise in all aspects of design and performance, from Building Physics to Health and Wellbeing, Parametric Modelling to Passivhaus, and BREEAM to specialist M&E solutions. With a Master’s degree in energy and sustainable building design, plus 15 years’ experience in the industry, Mark has led on a wide range of successful low energy developments, domestically and abroad in the residential, commercial, education and healthcare sectors. Mark is dedicated to reducing the operational energy demand of buildings, but also recognises the growing importance of minimising embodied energy in the makeup of buildings. He also embraces he shift in trend towards all-electric buildings due to the widespread decarbonisation of grid electricity in the UK, and has developed several passive and all-electric building solutions to suit, minimising or avoiding the use of fossil fuels altogether.
