Head of Structural Engineering, Premier Composite Technologies
Mark Hobbs studied engineering at Cambridge and then Yacht Design at Southampton University. An interesting lightweight marine structure leads him to a position at Gurit where he worked on a wide range of advanced FRP structures in the marine, architecture and renewable energy industries., including fulfilling one of his childhood dreams of working on an Americas Cup yacht. Over the last 15 years, he has become increasingly involved in advanced FRP architectural structures, working on a range of groundbreaking projects which have made him appreciate the wisdom of his mentor’s advice at the start of his career that ‘the most interesting projects were ones involving architects’. Since 2016, Mark has been Head of Structural Engineering at Premier Composite Technologies and continues to enjoy finding new challenges for advanced FRP materials.
