Martin Feeney

Principal, Holmes Fire LP

Martin Feeney is a Principal and Senior Fire Engineer with international consulting fire engineering firm Holmes Fire. He holds a Master’s degree in Fire Engineering from the University of Canterbury. During his 35 years of consulting engineering he has practiced as a structural engineer and fire engineer, and has developed specialist expertise in performance based fire safety design.

He has a particular interest in developing fire safety concepts for complex projects and has prepared performance-based fire safety solutions for a wide range of building types, including high rise office and residential buildings, hospitals, shopping centres and a range of public assembly buildings.

He is passionate about performance-based design and spends much of his time on initiatives for improving the standards of applied fire safety in New Zealand.  He is a Fellow of SFPE, a Fellow of Engineering New Zealand and a Chartered Professional Fire Engineer in New Zealand.
