Associate Principal - Façade Engineering, Arup
Matt Williams joined Arup’s façade engineering group in 2006 after building a broad façades experience in commercial office, healthcare and historic building renovation with a number of leading architectural practices. He now forms part of Arup’s Global Façade Engineering Leadership team.
Matt’s role is to deliver globally significant projects for Arup and his Clients, and to broaden and develop the façade business in the Americas. Building upon his 20+ years of experience, his responsibilities include fully coordinating the design and interfaces with project teams and the ‘in-house’ design of all aspects of projects, ranging from detailed design to cost management; construction and project administration, through all stages of the design and construction process. His experience includes the design and delivery of projects in the US, UK and Europe, Russia, Asia and the Middle East.
With a background in multidisciplinary design, his role includes: direct liaison with clients; interpreting client requirements; developing and presenting design solutions; design development and detailing, coordinating interfaces between sub-contractor packages; overseeing construction and maintaining on-site quality.
Since relocating to the US in 2009 he has developed a knowledge and working relationship with key domestic and international façade contractors and suppliers operating in the US and overseas.
