With 25 years of hands‑on experience, Mr. Zhang is a globally recognized authority in silicone sealant technology and standardization. He serves as Convenor of ISO/TC59/SC8 WG10, Vice Chair of China’s national sealant standards committee, and is a member of ASTM C24 and several other international bodies.
Under his leadership, Baiyun has developed high‑strength structural sealants, stain-resistant weatherproofing sealants, and specialty products for photovoltaic and stone façades – many achieving internationally advanced levels.
He is also known for two remarkable contributions: a 50‑year natural aging study on structural silicone sealant launched in 2012 across tropical and desert climates, providing invaluable data on long‑term durability; and a simple film test that quickly identifies sealants adulterated with white oil – a practice that severely compromises performance. This test has been adopted as a group standard to safeguard building quality.
Mr. Zhang has led the drafting of 13 standards, including two ISO standards, and has received multiple science and technology awards.
