Director, Zaha Hadid Architects
Michele is currently directing several major ongoing projects throughout Asia, including the Singapore New Science Centre recently won in competition, and a confidential tower, also in Singapore. His current portfolio also include a private penthouse in Beijing, the development of the second phase of the Unicorn Island Masterplan, which involves multiple buildings by ZHA, and the Shanghai HQ Campus for China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group (CECEP).
As a furniture designer, Michele has recently launched the new range of outdoor furniture, developed in collaboration with Italian manufacturer Serralunga. Inspired by fluidity, the range includes an outdoor sofa and table featuring distinctive curves and a sense of movement that highlights the sculptural quality of the set. In 2018, Michele was the co-project director for the multi-award winning Morpheus hotel and casino tower in Macau, China. Michele previously directed d’Leedon, a masterplanned residential development in Singapore (2014), and is currently project director for a private penthouse apartment in Beijing (due 2018). Other projects include ZHA’s KLCC mixed-use development in Malaysia, ZHA’s Chatres exhibition centre in France, Cairo Expo City conference and exhibition campus in Egypt (won in competition, and currently on hold due to political events), and also the Egyptian national pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai (complete). His furniture design portfolio includes – as part of the Zaha Hadid Design (ZHD) products – the Flow vase (2006-2007), the Dune Formation furniture system (2007), and the Zaha Hadid exhibition in Padua, Italy (2009-2010).
