Mike Zaborski

Mike Zaborski is internationally known for his award-winning projects and his dynamic design approach. With nearly three decades of experience, he oversees some of the firm’s largest projects, mentors staff, and evolves MdeAS ‘commitment to sustainability and craft in architecture. Since joining the firm in 1998, Mike has worked on a diverse range of projects including master plans, commercial buildings, retail, residential and mixed-use developments, curtain wall re-clad and over-clad as well as lobby expansions and renovations.
Most recently, he has completed the 3.5 million SF mixed-use master plan in Long Island City comprising of The JACX-a 1.2 million SF multi-use project on Jackson Avenue completed in 2020 and the adjacent Gotham Center Building B2 (Department of Health) completed in 2011. Notably, Mike spearheaded the award-winning renovation of the Alumni Auditorium and new Schaefer Awards Gallery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, honoured by Interior Design Magazine and NYCxDesign. A selection of completed international projects includes the re-cladding of tower and podium at First Canadian Place in Toronto, the design of the exterior curtain wall at Verde SW1 in London, and complete redevelopment of 2000 K Street in Washington, DC.
