Technical Director, Kingspan Insulated Panels
Nicholas Brown is the Technical Director for Kingspan Insulated Panels in the region of Australasia and South East Asia. He joined Kingspan UK in 2007 as the first in-house Structural Engineer within the division, responsible for the structural design and application of Insulated Panels and BENCHMARK façade products, which he continues to lead. Though specialising in structural design, throughout his time with Kingspan Nicholas has been involved in broad-ranging aspects of insulated panels and façade performance including acoustics, fire, thermal, structural, weather tightness.
During his time based in Europe Nicholas was heavily involved in standardisation as the Chairman of the British Standard committee B/542 responsible for the development of building standards for sandwich panels for roofing and walling. Including planning, programming and co-ordinate standards in the field of and to organize the work necessary to develop, produce and maintain standards. During this time Nicholas was also the UK representative in the European standardisation committee CEN/TC128/SC11, which is responsible for writing the European standard for the testing, design and application of sanwich panels. Nicholas was also an active member of various European technical working groups, which he continues to be involved in by correspondence.
Throughout his time at Kingspan Nicholas has been heavily involved in the design and application of insulated panels and facades throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Nicholas is now based in Sydney, applying his extensive knowledge to heading up the Technical support of Kingspan Insulated Panels and BENCHMARK facades in the region.
