
Senior Structural Engineer, Arup
Nicholas Di Tommaso is a senior structural engineer and project manager, member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from McGill University. He has been involved in numerous complex projects, both in existing buildings and new construction. His expertise covers the analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel buildings, as well as the assessment and retrofit of existing and heritage buildings. Nicholas approaches challenges from a holistic design perspective, striving for success for the project as a whole and adjusting strategies and approaches accordingly. Seismic rehabilitation and adaptive reuse are particular professional interests of his, and Nicholas has co-authored publications on seismic retrofit of unreinforced masonry structures as well as on innovative seismic retrofit methods in moderately seismic zones such as Montreal.
