Nigel Ostime

Partner, Hawkins\Brown

Nigel is a partner at Hawkins\Brown, a practice of around 300 people with studios in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Los Angeles. He co-leads the Specialist Design Studio with a focus on project delivery and offsite.

He has led the development of a new DfMA Overlay to the RIBA Plan of Work (due for publishing).

Hawkins\Brown are members of the Offsite Alliance where Nigel leads the Design Integration workstream, looking to develop closer collaboration and understanding between architects and manufacturers.

He is a member of the RIBA Practice & Profession Committee and chair of the RIBA Client Liaison Group, which provides an interface between the institute and client organisations. The group has published a number of influential reports including ‘Client and Architect: Developing the Essential Relationship’; ‘What Clients Think of Architects’ and ‘Building in Quality’.

He is author of several books on project and practice management and lectures in professional studies at several schools of architecture, including the AA, the Bartlett and Cambridge.
