Principal, Country Head - Indian Subcontinent, Aedas
Rafael is a Principal at Aedas with over 25 years of experience stretching more than 60 projects in 10 different countries – including Colombia, the USA, China, Singapore, and India. He holds a degree in Architecture from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia.
Joining Aedas in 2010, Rafael led the design and management of multiple projects including Sinarmas Land Headquarters and Ciputra International in Jakarta, Suntec City Mall A&A, and the LTA’s Integrated Transport Hub – a large and complex Transport Oriented Development in Singapore. As Team Leader for the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort (IR1) A&A, he led the multi-disciplinary team developing significant renovations in the Hotel, Casino, and other areas within the existing complex.
Since 2022, Rafael has been the Country Head for the Indian Subcontinent – where he leads developments of different typologies. He is responsible for driving business growth with emphasis on securing select key projects.
Significant active projects include the façade redesign for the High-Speed Rail stations in Ahmedabad and Sabarmati, several large residential developments in Hyderabad & the Delhi NCR, Mixed-Use developments, and recently a Hotel in Kerala. He is also the current Director for Pragati Maidan which hosted the G20 in 2023.
