Regional Director, Maffeis Engineering
Richard MacDonald is the Regional Director at Maffeis Engineering (Singapore), a specialist Italian structural engineering company with offices in Italy, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, London, Germany, South Africa, North America and Russia.
Prior to joining Maffeis Engineering, Richard MacDonald worked in the design and construction of light weight structures at several companies, including Taiyo Membrane India, Taiyo Kogyo Group, Connell Wager(now Aurecon) and the Kinhill Group. Notably is his 14 years as SE Asia’s Regional Director for the Taiyo Kogyo Group, the world’s largest D&B Company in Textile Architecture. (>USD1Billion turnover)
Richard MacDonald received a Bachelor’s degree with Honor’s in Civil Engineering from Curtin University, Australia, 1986. He is also a member of The Institution of Engineers Australia.
Richard’s professional interests focus on the design and constructability of long span steel and cable structures, flexible/rigid building envelopes and tensile membrane structures. A few of his current projects include stadia and arenas throughout Asia and Australia, the Statue of Unity in India, and various flexible/rigid facade projects throughout Australasia.
