Sarah Silva is the CEO and a founding Board Member of Hiy̓ám̓ Housing, the Squamish Nation’s non‑profit housing organization.
Under her leadership, Hiy̓ám̓ Housing is advancing the development and management of safe, healthy, inclusive, and affordable communities for Squamish Nation members, grounded in cultural values and community empowerment.
Sarah previously served as the Vice President of Real Estate and Development at Nch’ḵaỷ Development and is a proud member of the Squamish Nation. She is an accomplished real estate professional and community builder with a strong track record of leading innovative, high‑impact projects and multidisciplinary teams. In her role at Nch’ḵaỷ, she oversaw strategic real estate and development initiatives aligned with the Nation’s long‑term vision, ensuring projects reflected the highest standards of corporate social responsibility, land stewardship, and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values. Her work consistently balances economic, social, environmental, and cultural priorities for current and future generations.
Sarah also served as the Director of Housing Operations at the Aboriginal Housing Management Association, further strengthening her expertise in Indigenous housing systems and community‑based service delivery. She holds a certificate from Harvard Business School in Leading People and Investing to Build Sustainable Communities.
