Sergio De Gaetano is the global leader of the Façade Engineering practice with 16 years of international experience and extensive working knowledge of complex façades and roof systems.

Sergio’s most recent façade design credits include the redevelopment of Court No.1 at Wimbledon, Land Securities’ Nova development, a £760M transformation of Victoria Circle in London, SKY SOHO in Shanghai, an iconic mixed-use development with ZahaHadid Architects, KOC Art Gallery in Istanbul with Grimshaw Architects, as well as a number of projects around the world collaborating with architects such as Renzo Piano, Henning Larsen Architects, Lynch Architects, Arquitectonica, Squire and Partners, Grid, Allies and Morrison, and Stanton Williams. His project experience at previous firms includes for example the recently opened extension to the Tate Modern in London with Herzog & de Meuron.

He has lectured widely in Europe and is a regular speaker at prestigious international conferences, including Glass Performance Days in Finland and symposia of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE). Sergio is a Fellow and active member of the The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers’ (CIBSE) Society of Façade Engineering.

More recently, Sergio spends most of his time with family, raising his two children. Sergio’s interests include tennis and football (soccer). He also enjoys playing his favourite electric guitars – a Stratocaster and a Les Paul – and writing songs.
