Principal Architect, Cadence Design
Smaran Mallesh is the co-founder of Cadence Architects and is also involved in teaching design at architecture schools in Bangalore. The office from its initial conception was imagined to operate like a studio, the term “Studio” is generally associated with academia; and architecture as a “Speculative practice” can only thrive in a studio atmosphere. The spirit of speculation manifests itself into strategic processes which enable projects to evolve from conceptual ideas to sophisticated finished products.
This process-based rigor is laced with a certain sensibility, a sensibility to achieve new spatial and formal effects. Smaran received his Masters’s degree from Austen E. Knowlton School of Architecture, Ohio State University (M. Arch 2004 – 2006).
Since its inception in 2005 Cadence has won many prestigious national level awards for various projects. Cadence has been published in national as well as international architectural journals.
