Principal & Director of Specifications, HOK

As Director of Specifications for HOK, I oversee firm-wide specifications initiatives, to ensure high quality design and technical excellence in project delivery. I am a registered Architect, a Certified Construction Specifier, a LEED AP BD+C, and a WELL AP with significant multi-disciplinary professional experience in Architecture, Urban Design, and Interior Design. I am involved in technical design on projects from inception to completion, preparation of Project Manuals, QA/QC review of Contract Drawings, Material Research and Specifications, Technical Management, Construction Contract Administration, Sustainable Design Strategies and Implementation, Leadership in Environmental Energy Design (LEED), Mentoring and Facilitation.  I am passionate about the Architect’s role and responsibility to lead the design process through excellence in the execution and project delivery, employing both the Science and Art of Design in shaping the built environment.  I am actively engaged in supporting HOK’s Building Envelope Knowledge Group, the Master Specifications effort, QA/QC, Peer Review and Technical Mentoring. During my career, I have worked in the following Market Sectors: Aviation + Transportation; Corporate, Commercial + Civic; Healthcare; Higher Education; Science + Technology; K-12; Banking, Trading + Financial Services; Sports; and Hospitality.
