Tamara Higgins, CBECxP, CDT, is the Vice President of Operations for BEAM Professionals. With more than 35 years of experience spanning manufacturing, engineering, commercial construction, subcontracting, and consulting, she has established herself as a recognized leader in building enclosure science and the successful delivery of high-performance building envelope systems.
Tamara began her career in manufacturing before transitioning into the commercial construction industry, where she gained extensive experience in glass and glazing and later owned and operated a subcontracting firm specializing in prefabricated exterior wall panel systems. Her diverse background provides a unique perspective on the integration of design, fabrication, quality assurance, and field installation.
Today, she leads multidisciplinary teams providing Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx), technical peer reviews, forensic investigations, new construction consulting, historic preservation, property condition assessments, and performance testing for projects across healthcare, education, commercial, and civic markets. She is passionate about collaborating with owners, architects, contractors, manufacturers, and trade partners to develop practical, resilient, and durable enclosure solutions.
Tamara is a frequent presenter for IIBEC, AIA, and industry conferences, sharing lessons learned from complex building enclosure projects and promoting best practices that improve long-term building performance, sustainability, and occupant safety.
