A director at DP Architects, Mr Tan Chee Yong is an all-rounded architect with over 20 years of experience in both local and overseas markets, he has accumulated a deep portfolio of projects across various scales and building typologies. A firm believer in the capacity of architecture and urban planning to help governments, clients and communities bridge socio-economic aspirations, Chee Yong’s strong passion for design, project implementation and business development is evident throughout his work.
In regards to redevelopment and A&A projects, he recognizes the potential that the Asset Enhancement Initiative (AEI) holds to realise and advance a more sustainable Built Environment industry. Here, he adopts a 3R approach – Refresh, Reconfigure & Reposition – to breathe new life into old buildings, and to optimize and increase the development value of building assets. In his design, there is an emphasis in three aspects – People, Environment, Value where he seeks to create a vibrant people-centric place.
He is one of the advisers to the firm’s AEI team; and also leads AEI projects right from feasibility study, design and implementation stage. His completed projects in Singapore and China includes Lazada One (Singapore), 112 Katong (Singapore), Thomson Plaza “Swing By” (Singapore), Capital Square (Singapore), BEA Towers (Shanghai), Platinum Towers (Shanghai), ShineCity (Beijing), LifeCity (Tianjin), ShineCity (Qingdao) etc.
