Principal, Populous
As principal of one of the world’s leading sport and entertainment venue design firms, Taryn McQueen is at the forefront when it comes to the design of iconic community-friendly facilities. In addition to designing inclusive and sustainable venues that will enrich our city and stand the test of time, Taryn is a passionate champion for the improvement and progression of women’s and paralympic sports.
She was the Project Lead for Football Victoria’s Home of the Matildas Training and Community Facility at La Trobe University in Victoria. This purpose-built facility is a world-class home for the Matildas and is one of the first dedicated training centres for a national elite women’s team.
Her international work, particularly on the venues for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, including King Fahd International and Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium, has been making headlines, not only in Australia but around the world as examples of great design that brings people together.
In 2025, Taryn was named one of Queensland’s 40 under 40 young leaders who are shaping the State.
