The architect duo Christine and Thomas Steimle have been working in the field of tension between competitions and the realisation of private and public projects from the beginning. Together with their team, they see the challenge of their work in the openness to a broad spectrum of building tasks. Their working method does not follow a strictly formulated architectural philosophy. Each new planning task offers the potential to create a built space that can set new impulses for further development and change precisely at this location with its characteristics.
Steimle Architekten have received recognition for their work with numerous awards, including a nomination for the EU mies award 22 and the BDA architecture award NIKE, the German Timber Construction Award, the best architects award in gold, the betonpreis, the BDA Hugo Häring Landespreis, and an honour at the German Sustainability Award.
In addition to managing his office, which he founded in 2009, Thomas Steimle is a deputy board member of the BDA Landesverband Baden- Württemberg, a member of the Landesbeirat Baukultur Baden- Württemberg, and a competition judge.
