Founder, Makower Architects
Tim Makower is an architect, urbanist and a cultural polymath. He studied at the University of Cambridge and the Royal College of Art in London. In 1990 he joined Allies and Morrison, a leading architectural and urban design practice in the UK. In 2008 Tim began working on projects in Doha where he was the masterplanner and architect for Sidra Village, a 9 hectare community at Education City. He was also the ‘Architectural Language Advisor’ for the Msheireb Project, a 35 hectare / 8m square feet mixed use development in the old city centre.
In 2012 Tim founded Makower Architects, a 22-person strong international practice specialising in master planning and urbanism, whose ongoing projects include among others the Al Rayyan Gate masterplan and Al Sadd Gardens and investigative urban design mapping studies in the old city neighbourhoods of Al Ghanem, Jadeeda and Salwa Road, Doha
