Deputy Director of Sustainable Design, Ronald Lu & Partners
Tony Ip is the Deputy Director of Sustainable Design of Ronald Lu & Partners (RLP), Registered Architect (HK), AP (Architect), HKIA, HKIUD, PIA, BEAM Pro, BREEAM AP, LEED AP BD+C & Neighbourhood Development and WELL AP. He has demonstrated a flair for multi-disciplinary practices and academic studies in the building profession.
Tony also received his BEng, MSc (Eng), MArch&MUrbanDesign from The University of Hong Kong, BBE(Arch) from Queensland University of Technology and MSt IDBE from University of Cambridge. He is currently conducting an academic research of sky-rise greening and zero/low carbon living, and has presented his findings in the SB13 Hong Kong Regional Conference, the 19th International Conference on Sustainable Innovation 2014 in Copenhagen and the 11th Design & Health World Congress 2015 in Hong Kong.
VTC THEi New Campus, ZCB – the first Zero Carbon Building in Hong Kong, OPUS HONG KONG – an iconic residential building with BEAM Platinum certification, research study for Design and Construction requirements for Residential Buildings for Energy Efficiency in Hong Kong, and the award winning design competition proposal of Xiqu Centre at the WKCD are some of his selected recent sustainable design projects.
Tony is an inspiration to young architects. Devoted to community service, he is Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Architecture Centre, Director of the YMCA of Hong Kong, ZCB Professional Ambassador and HKGBC Green Building Faculty member. He won the HKIA Young Architect Award 2010, EcoStar Award 2014 and Ten Outstanding Young Persons Selection 2016; and exhibited his art installation in the 15th Venice International Architecture Biennale 2016.
