Prof. Yasser Mansour is the former Head of Architecture Department at Ain Shams University in Cairo. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Ain Shams University in 1980 and received a Ph.D. in Architecture from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Master Degree in Urban Design from Kansas State University, USA.
Prof. Yasser Mansour is the founding president of YMCA Architectural Professional Consultancy Firm based in Cairo, Egypt and also Founding Partner of 5+UDC, Urban Development Consortium responsible for the master-planning of the New Administrative Capital in Egypt. He was the former secretary general of the Grand Egyptian Museum project from 2001 to 2010 and has published more than 50 scientific research papers related to design, theories, philosophy, and museography.
Prof. Mansour is the editor of four books – Architecture and Sustainability, Architecture and Culture, Architecture and Traditional Settlements and Grand Egyptian Museum. He was the general coordinator and organizer of 5 international conferences in the field of Architecture and Urban Planning. He is also a professional consultant and a board member of the Egyptian Architectural Society SEA, and a member of UIA, ESE, IASTE, ACSA, ACADIA, IAHS.
