General Manager, Kajima Technical Reserach Institute
Dr. Yuichi TAKEMASA is currently General Manager of Kajima Technical Research Institute Singapore.
He graduated from The University of Tokyo in 1989 and earned Master of Engineering in 1991. He has been working for Kajima Technical Research Institute (KaTRI) since 1991. KaTRI is the technical research institute of Kajima Corporation, which is one of the largest general contractors in Japan. He has been a member of Kajima Technical Research Institute Singapore (KaTRIS) since its establishment in September 2013 and has been General Manager since January 2017. He was concurrently assigned to Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zürich) as Visiting Researcher from 1997 to 1999. He earned Doctor of Engineering in 2007 from The University of Tokyo. He was also Adjunct Lecturer of Tokyo University of Science from 2008 to 2013.
Dr. Takemasa has been conducting research and consultancy work on indoor environment and energy conservation in buildings. His specialty is especially Net Zero Energy Building (ZEB), green building technologies, indoor thermal environment, thermal performance of facades, HVAC systems, natural ventilation, stack effect in high-rise buildings, macroscopic simulation models, CFD, HVAC design in offices, factories, plant factories, etc. Since he was assigned to the current position in Singapore, he has been handling wider perspectives surrounding engineering and technologies in the building and construction fields.
