Architect & Committee Member, RIBA Gulf Jeddah Chapter
Born in Hong Kong and educated in England, Amy graduated at the world prestigious School of Architecture, The Architectural Association in London and was awarded Chartered Architect with Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Architects Registration Board (ARB) in United Kingdom. She has been a practicing architect since 1998 and with 20 years’ experience in diverse range of built projects worldwide. She has previously worked for world renowned practice, David Chipperfield Architects and Award winning practice, Allies & Morrison Architects in London with combined projects list include Dolce & Gabbana Fashion House flagship Store in Los Angelos and over 20 concessions shops worldwide; Pringle of Scotland Fashion House flagship store in London; Bliss Spa, Kensington, London; The Shore Club Hotel in Miami; BBC Broadcasting Headquarter Office in White City and English Heritage listed building The Royal Festival Hall refurbishment, London; to a wide range of private residential projects in London, New York and Hong Kong.
Amy set up her own Architectural practice in London in 2015, developing residential and research lab on prefab affordable housing in UK. In 2013 Alam Creative design studio in Jeddah was launched. Working on a range of built projects from highly design led private residential to commercial projects including spas, fashion boutiques, and beach resort development in Obhur. The practice currently has an office in Jeddah and Lisbon, Portugal.
Aside from working in her design practice, Amy is an active academia and passionate in promoting good design and standard in KSA. Currently Amy is an elected committee member at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Gulf Chapter and a KSA Jeddah representative since 2015. The role of RIBA Gulf is to bring about education, professional courses and opening up architecture dialogue to a wide range of audiences in the Gulf region. Since 2017, Amy has orchestrated the prestigious RIBA President’s Medals tour exhibition in over 10 Universities in the Gulf, including 4 KSA Universities. She is also the Co Editor of the RIBA Gulf Newsletter bringing about the latest projects and architecture discourse to the RIBA network of readers in the Gulf region.
