Simone graduated in Civil Engineering from the University of Bologna (Italy) and was awarded a research scholarship in Architectural Engineering at Penn State University (USA). After a brief period as a lecturer at the College of Engineering, University of Bologna, he spent seven years with specialist sub-contractor Focchi, holding various senior roles and delivering projects in London and Singapore. He then established and led the Façade Engineering team at Laing O’Rourke, serving as Head of Façade Engineering from 2005 to 2019. Following this, he joined Sir Robert McAlpine as Head of Façade Engineering, overseeing tenders and live projects across the business. Simone later became Sales Director at specialist sub-contractor seele, managing relationships with architects and overseeing projects in the UK. He is currently a Board Member and Fellow of the Society of Façade Engineering, a founding member of SFE Italy, and a member of the Joint Competence Initiative (JCI) since its inception in 2019. He also served as a Board Member and Technical Committee Member at the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology from 2019 to 2023. Over the years, Simone has contributed to the successful delivery of numerous iconic façade projects across London and the UK.
