Douglas has reached 20 years of global façade engineering consultant and contractor experience. His specialist experience in façade engineering is strengthened by previous roles including main contractor, infrastructure project management and technical, cost and contractual consultation.
Douglas has undertaken various world-class projects including Hong Kong Disneyland, Macau City of Dreams and Dubai Metro. As a super high-rise building façade specialist, he worked as the façade-consultant-team-leader on the two tallest buildings in the World – Burj Khalifa and Dubai Creek Harbour Tower in Dubai.
In May 2014, Douglas joined Aurecon (Middle East) as the facade services group leader of the Middle East office, and was responsible for managing the façade team operation which includes strategic business development, client engagement, and managing design project delivery. In October 2021, Douglas relocated to Australia and continued his service in the Aurecon Melbourne façade team.
Besides his in-depth knowledge and experience in façade design and construction, Douglas is particularly interested in parametric façade design and fabrication modelling, as well as sustainability façade design.
