Ahmed Zaidan returned from New York to Saudi Arabia in 2004 to found EdgeArch (Ahmed Zaidan Architectural Engineering Consulting), and since then has been in the position of President and Lead Designer. Over the years the firm has grown from a single person firm to one of the country’s leading young firms with several billion Saudi Riyals worth of projects value.
An internationally awarded architect with successful career designing and engineering significant civic buildings. During his 20 year career, Ahmed has designed three major airports, several hospitals, higher educational and research buildings, as well as cultural and art facilities.
Ahmed participated as a speaker on several architecture related conferences, and is currently a judge for the World Architecture Festival international awards, Educated at the Pratt Institute in New York, one of the world’s top architecture and design schools, he pursued a career in design with several New York recognized firms, before returning to Saudi Arabia. Ahmed is a board member in the country’s oldest newspaper publisher, a member of Engineers Committee at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce, and a consultant to Makkah Region Council. His designs have been published in several architecture magazines and books.
