Priority Lead | Building Surveyor Resourcing, Victorian Building Authority
Andrew Cialini is a highly respected industry leader with over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, spanning private enterprise, public service and state government operations. He is the former State Building Surveyor of Victoria and currently serves as the Priority Lead for Building Surveyor Resourcing at the VBA.
As the State Building Surveyor, Andrew was a strong advocate for uplifting education and capability of building surveyors and practitioners across Victoria. He led the creation and implementation of the Code of Conduct for Building Surveyors, aimed at improving standards, trust and oversight in the building industry. He also spearheaded initiatives to address poor documentation through the recently introduced Design Documentation Practice Guide.
Andrew’s extensive experience includes nine years as a structural design engineer and over 25 years as a building surveyor, managing compliance risks on major and complex projects.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with Honours from the University of Adelaide and a Graduate Certificate in Building and Planning from the University of South Australia. He has been registered as a building surveyor in multiple states and actively participated in industry committees and associations and past chair of the Building Regulators Forum.
