Associate, Nikken Sekkei
An urbanist by approach and Architect, Urban Designer and Master Planner by profession; Ashish is one of the few of his contemporaries who chose to move to far East rather than West. His career is an interesting cyclic path between study-work-study-work in India as well as Japan in premier universities like CEPT and Waseda. He has been in Japan for last 12 years and has worked for wide geographies including India, Japan, Bhutan, China, South Korea, Thailand, Middle East, etc including a number of award winning projects. He has also worked in India for 6 years on projects with VastuShilp Consultants, Christopher Charles Benninger Associates and others.
His urbanist attitude helps him to understand and look at the same project from various user perspectives and thereby bring value addition for clients, end users as well as the urban set-up in which the building stands.
Currently he is heading the Indian market for Nikken Sekkei.
