Athula Amarasekera is a Singapore and Thailand Based Sri Lankan Architect, whose is passionate about Highrise projects & building projects from 5 star Airline Lounges, Chik Hostels, No- Frills Hotels to 5 star Branded Residences to ultra high rise structures. His work spans Singapore, Melbourne, Australia, Multiple Indian Cities, Sri Lanka, Thailand etc. Notable works in Sri Lanka include Altair as detailing architect, Access Tower 2, the conceptualization of highly successful Cinnamon Red Colombo, now being expanded to Kandy, the Dusit Thani Beach Front Balapitiya, Revitalisation of Kalpitiya etc..
His Architectural and Interior Design work in the region include New generation Lounges in the region for Emirates, Marina Barrage Singapore, Neuros and Immunos Buildings in Biopolis Singapore, Ubi Techpark Singapore, Mantra Hotel Extension Melbourne Airport, upscale hotel in Melbourne’s Art District Etc, International’s tech park Chennai, Hexaware Campus Chennai etc. His work in Sri Lanka includes On320 Condominium, Colombo, Access Tower 2, Colombo, and as Detailing architects for Altair Colombo.
Trained in Sri Lanka & Hong Kong with First Class In B.Sc (Built Environment) & Highly Commenced pass in M.Sc in Architecture from University of Moratuwa Sri Lanka and a Distinction in Masters in Urban Design from University of Hong Kong, Athula Amarasekera also has extensive master planning, design and hospitality experience in Singapore, India, Australia and Sri Lanka. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects, Royal Institute of British Architects and Singapore Institute of Planners, He has been a Council Member/Office Bearer of the Singapore Institute of Planners for over 12 years from 2001 to 2013.
