Béthanie Cloutier

Specialist Engineer | Structural Glass, Elema

After graduating from McGill University in 1982, Ms. Cloutier began her career as a structural engineer with Shector Barbacki Shemie and Associates (now SBSA) until 1986 before founding Cloutier Powney & Associates. In 2000, the subsidiary CPA Structural Glass (CPA) was created under his chairmanship to offer engineering services for complex glass systems. In 2004 and following a merger, she became a partner in the firm SDK and Associates and continued the development of CPA, which combined several unique projects in Montreal such as the entrance glass façades at Complexe Desjardins, the Oriel at the Maison Symphonique and the cubic entrance to Maison Simons at Place Ste-Foy in Quebec City.

At the end of 2017, CPA became an autonomous entity and the arrival of Marc Bilodeau as Senior Partner in 2018 broadened the range of services by combining their recognized complementary experiences. Since August 2022, CPA has been part of ELEMA experts-conseils where, as a specialist engineer, she has been adding to the pool of structural glass engineering professionals by sharing her knowledge of more than 40 years of diversified practice and aims to develop new markets here and abroad.
