Christoph Paech is a structural engineer and graduated from the University of Stuttgart. He joined schlaich bergermann partner (sbp) as an engineer in 2004 and worked in the offices in Stuttgart and New York. In 2015 he became a director at sbp. With this experience and his profound expertise and knowledge in the field of lightweight design and materials, Christoph strives for solutions that suit a building project technically, economically and ecologically. He has successfully designed and managed numerous innovative sports, multi-use and large-scale projects with interdisciplinary teams worldwide. Major sport venue projects he has led include the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, the Al Bayt Stadium and the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium in Qatar. Besides his design works in the sport sector, he has also designed other award-winning projects such as for example the M11 Memorial for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Madrid, a filigree concrete shell for a Tram Stop in Berlin and the retractable roof of the Al Barahat Square in Doha, Qatar.
