Co-founder, Erginoğlu & Çalışlar
Erginoğlu & Çalışlar Design Center co-founder architect Hasan Çalışlar, was born in 1969, in İstanbul. After graduating from Le Lycée Saint-Michel, he pursued his education at Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Architecure, graduating in 1992. Finishing his graduate studies on ‘Power and Rulership’ at Yıldız Technical University Faculty of Architecture, Çalışlar established Erginoğlu & Çalışlar with his partner Kerem Erginoğlu.
Carrying out several projects in both Turkey and abroad, Çalışlar worked on and finalized projects with different typologies such as offices, culture, retail, civic, sports, educational, residential, industrial and master planning, which some of were first in their categories. Erginoğlu & Çalışlar’s pragmatic and aesthetic design approach which also aims to emphasize clients’ corporate identity took attention by different international firms and led to several awards such as nomination for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture for the New Power Station, ‘The New & Old Award’ for the Salt Repository-Medina Turgul DDB Head Quarters in the World Architecture Festival, First Prize for the New Power Station in the Iconic Awards and the National Architecture Awards from different years.
Having articles on several publications, Çalışlar had jury and guest instructor duties at architecture faculties of Mimar Sinan, İstanbul Technical, Uludağ, Yıldız Technical, Bologna and Minnesota University since 2000. Çalışlar is a member of TMMOB Chamber of Architects of Turkey and ISMD – Association of Architects in Private Practice of İstanbul.
