Nebojša Jakica

Associate Professor - Façade Design and Engineering, University of Southern Denmark

Nebojsa Jakica is an Associate Professor in Facade Design and Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). He holds a Ph.D. in Technology and Design for the Environment and Buildings (TEPAC) from Politecnico di Milano. He collaborated with multiple architectural practices in Europe including HENN (Berlin, Germany), Vittorio Grassi Architetto and Partners (Milan, Italy), on award-winning projects worldwide. He currently leads the FACETS lab, an interdisciplinary research laboratory specializing in Industry 5.0 technologies for façades. The FACETS lab envisions a future of facades by exploring a unique mix of façade-related art, design, science, and technology to form an inspiring research and education ecosystem. The research covers a plethora of topics as diverse as Façade Computational Design and Engineering, Additive Manufacturing of Façade Systems, Autonomous Facades, Façade Digital Twins, VR Façade Mock-ups, and Circular Economy for Facades.
