Paolo Brescia

Co-Founder, OBR Open Building Research

Paolo Brescia graduated in Architecture from Milan Polytechnic with Pierluigi Nicolin in 1996 after studying at the Architectural Association in London. He worked with Renzo Piano until 2000, when together with Tommaso Principi he founded OBR with the idea of investigating new ways of living, creating a network between Milan, London and Mumbai. With OBR he develops urban projects, promoting – through architecture – the sense of community and individual identities. He is invited to give lectures at various universities such as Aalto University in Helsinki, the Academy of Architecture of Mumbai and FIU University in Miami. With OBR Paolo has been awarded the honourable mention AR Award Emerging Architecture at RIBA, Europe 40 Under 40 in Madrid, WAN Residential Award in London, Overall Winner LEAF Award in London, the American Architecture Prize in New York and the MIPIM Award 2024.
