Racha Rachwan

Design Manager, Al-Futtaim

Graduated from Ain Shams University Architecture Department; Racha has 19 years of experience in the field of Architecture Design and Construction. During which; she developed her passion to the environmental and sustainability design by preparing Master’s Degree in the sustainability field and thesis called “The Use of the Renewable Energies in the Urban Design of the University Buildings” where, Racha made an on-hand measurement and calculations for the PV cells on the studied locations. Moreover, she had a field study in Germany covering the Energy Efficient Building to reach sustainable Construction.

As a LEED AP and AVS; it helped her to study the integration between the sustainability aspects and Value Engineering methodology; in order to achieve more efficient project considering the buildings performance, cost and Value. These qualifications helped applying studies on the different projects that she managed and published a paper that consolidates the outputs: “The Influence of Value Engineering and Sustainability considerations on the Project Value”, Procedia Environmental Sciences (2016) pp. 431438. Being a speaker in many conferences, helped Racha to stay updated on the sustainability field which is becoming an emerging direction into the construction and the Egyptian Market.

Currently working as a design manager in Cairo Festival City, under the development of Al Futtaim one of the largest and reputable developer in the MENA Region. This gave her the opportunity to help implementing her experience over the projects that she managed reaching more efficient and environmental project
