Raphael de la Fontaine

Founder and Lead Architect, D-BLK Architects

Raphael de la Fontaine is an architect, urbanist, designer and lecturer. He specializes in complex buildings design as well as metropolitan architecture and urbanism. He completed his Bachelors of Architecture at Pratt Institute and his Masters of Architecture at Yale University, both with the highest of honors.

De la Fontaine is an internationally trained architect, known for his revolutionary work in Israel including the pivotal Midtown Jerusalem complex and the Imagine Hotel tower in the center of Tel Aviv.

De la Fontaine lectures at the architecture department at Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem where he teaches advanced design studios on topics including transit-oriented developments and super-tall buildings.

He established D-BLK Architects together with his partners Barely, Levitzky and Kassif, and in 2021, he founded de la Fontaine Architecture. Prior to establishing the design studio which counts more than 40 architects, designers and urbanists, he developed his foundations with the mentorship of world-famous architects including Gehry, Calatrava, Pelli, KPF and Eisenman with whom he collaborated on projects in North America, Asia, Dubai and Europe.

Between the years 2023-2026, over 20 major projects are planned to be erected, designed and led by de la Fontaine and his team. At the center of his present work stands project ‘Vertical’, a 350,000 square-meter development in the heart of the Tel Aviv district.
